Trent Roger Sumner, 50, of Valdosta died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 9, 1959 to Wendell and Virginia Howze Sumner and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Sumner attended Crossroads Baptist Church and was a salesman with Englewood Electric. He loved the Lord and life to the fullest. Mr. Sumner enjoyed spending time with his daughters and working in the yard. He was always smiling, a great dresser and had a very unique contagious laugh that made him the life of the party.
Survivors include his wife, Ginny Smith Sumner, two daughters, Trinity Sumner and Patricia Sumner all of Valdosta, his parents, Wendell and Virginia Sumner of Adel, his sister, Tammy Sumner, his niece, Ramsey Sumner, his parents in law, Tom Bush, Jr. and Patsy Smith and his brother in law, T. Bush Smith, III all of Valdosta, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford and Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
