Tracy Albert Lewis, Jr.

Tracy Albert Lewis, Jr., USAF MSgt. Ret., 73, of Valdosta since 1976, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at his residence. Born on July 18, 1933 in Aberdeen, NC, he was the son of the late Trace Albert, Sr. and Grace Alene Wilson Lewis. He retired after 39 years of combined service; 23 years of active service with the USAF having served in Vietnam and 15 years of civil service as the Deputy Chief of Contracting at Moody Air Force Base. He then worked at the Valdosta Teachers Credit Union for 9 years. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, an usher, was on the finance committee, worked in the kitchen and was a choir member. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, loved golfing, Wildcat and Georgia Bulldog football, and especially loved his family and church.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Linda Lewis of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Spotts of Loganville; twin sons and their wives, Donnie and Donna Lewis of Tallahassee, FL and Ronnie and Kim Lewis of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Johnny Spotts, Dustin Lewis, Dakota Lewis, Jackson Lewis and Chandler Lewis; a brother, Charles Lewis of North Carolina; sisters, Jo Britt, Dot Wilson, Shirley Garner, Alice Winfree all of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Tennessee.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Willis and Dr. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
