Toy Luke Rowan of Valdosta died on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Vera Hancock Luke and the widow of Julius Rowan of Valdosta. Mrs. Rowan was co-owner of Rowan Meats and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are one sister, Doris McMillan of Columbia, SC; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Vinson and Ruby Luke, Henry (Tootie) Luke all of Nashville; five grandchildren, Noah and Amanda Rowan, Lukus (Skipper) and Amanda Rowan, Brad Rowan, Jr., Brooke Rowan and Josh Rowan all of Valdosta; three great grandchildren, Jake Dalyon Rowan, Heidi Elizabeth Rowan and Kaley Grace Sumner all of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, A. Brad Rowan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2005 in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Rick Williams officiating. Entombment will follow after the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
