Tony Ray Yates

Tony Ray Yates, 48, of Valdosta, died after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on December 13, 1960 in Brinson. He was a truck driver for R.B.I. and attended Greenwood Baptist Church.

Tony is survived by his father and mother, J. Harold and Betty S. Yates of Bainbridge; brother and sister-in-law, James T. and Jennifer Yates; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Kay and Emory Sanders, all of Valdosta; former wife, Sue Eatman Taylor of Valdosta; step-sons, Robert Taylor of Melbourne, FL, John Allen Taylor and his wife, Nancy of Tallahassee, FL, Clinton Taylor of Valdosta; step-daughter, Almanda Taylor of Valdosta. Tony is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Lauren Shelton, Jack Taylor, both of Tallahassee, FL, Matthew Attenberry, Katherine Littlejohn, both of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews and his special friends, Tommy and Becky Ryan of Valdosta.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. this morning, Thursday, May 14, 2009 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Bill McCurdy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in the Brinson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
