Tommy Minton, 63, of Statenville, went to be with his parents in Heaven on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
He was born September 12, 1952 in Statenville, a son of the late Hilton B. and Dorothy Hiers Minton. Tommy was of the Baptist faith, and had been a welder for many years until his health forced him to retire. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was a loveable person, old-fashioned in his ways and very outspoken. He also loved fishing and hunting, NASCAR and WWE Wrestling, country music and bluegrass, and country cooking.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Minton and fiancé Lacinda Anderson of Valdosta, and Amanda Minton Music and husband Joey of Jennings, FL; two grandchildren, Austin Music and Brianna Music; his former wife, Sylvia Clay of Ray City; several aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special aunt, Ms. Inez, and special cousins, Robert Minton and Benny Kent.
A Graveside Memorial Service for Mr. Minton will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Statenville Cemetery, with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, Lake Park.
