Timothy David Johnson, 52, of Pearson, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. Two years ago he was diagnosed with Corticobasal Degeneration Disease.
He was born January 7, 1961 in Concord, NC, and honorably served in the United States Air Force. Timothy was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, and a former member of First Baptist Church of Valdosta. For the past fifteen years he was a Car Hauler and loved his job. An avid Seminole fan, he also enjoyed collecting baseball cards, fishing, playing softball, being outdoors, and was a Master Carpenter. Most of all he loved his family and having family time. He was affectionately known as "Pop Pop" to his grandson and they loved their milk and syrup.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnson of Pearson: one son, Christopher David Johnson and fiancé Karan Lee of Nicholls; two step-sons, Michael Douglas of Pearson, William and wife Tiffany Douglas of Nicholls; one step-daughter, Melissa Douglas of Pearson; one grandson, Patrick James Hewett-Rey of Pearson; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Charlie King of Hilliard, FL; several nephews; one niece; aunts; uncles; cousins; and father-in-law, Rocky Blackwelder of Douglas. He was preceded in death by his parents, James David and Betty Johnson, and Roy and Joyce Sculley.
The Funeral Service for Timothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Mac Weaver and Brother Den Weniger officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
