Thomas Wayne Taylor, Sr., 76, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on August 8, 1936 in Selma, Alabama to the late Jess and Robbie Taylor. For many years Mr. Taylor was a welder at Riblet Products. He loved to be with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Taylor of Valdosta; four daughters, Sandra Kaye Coody of Valdosta, Patty Gaddis and husband Richard of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lisa "Wendy" O'Dell of Lake Butler, Florida, and Karen Jarvis and husband Randy of Quitman; one son, Buddy Taylor and wife Cathy of Valdosta; nine grandchildren, Justin Coody, Jay Wilson, Courtney (Brandon) Matheny, Tara, Elizabeth, Timothy and Dezi Jarvis, Ashley Taylor and Lindsey (Brandon) Harpe; two great-grandchildren, Owen Matheny and Kaylee Harpe; a brother, Clarence Taylor of Thomasville; a sister, Ginger Langston of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Coody.
A memorial service for Mr. Taylor will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Ousley Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospice. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
