Thomas Simpson

Thomas Simpson 78 of Valdosta died Friday, October 15, 2010 at his residence following a short illness. He was born on June 14, 1932, in Brooks County, to the late Artice Burton Simpson, and Ruby Cannon Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a member of St. Augustine Road Church of Christ, a retired US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Survivors include his wife, June Beck Simpson of Valdosta, a son and daughter-in-law. Thomas A (Tommy) Simpson (Carmen), three sisters, Jewell Martin, of Valdosta; Carolyn Wimer of Valdosta; Victoria Starling Lewisberg, TN; two grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Simpson and Ava Claire Simpson of Valdosta and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Faye Rountree.

Graveside services will be held at 3 pm, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Mr. Deland Guthrie officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service.
