Thomas Isaac (Ike) Carter, Jr., 81, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005, at his home. Born in Lowndes County on March 30, 1924 he was the son of the late Thomas Isaac (Ike), Sr. and Rosa Moore Carter. Mr. Carter was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church, was associated with Valdosta Glass Company for over 40 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors are his wife, Oneeda Carter of Valdosta; daughters and son in law, Pat Carter Pearson of Valdosta, Marlene Carter Bennett and Terry Bennett of Valdosta; grandchildren, Dawn M. and David Reenstra of Fayetteville, Georgia, Wendy P. and Todd Woodruff, Jason T. Bennett, Eric A. and Karla Adams Bennett of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Ella Paige Reenstra, Taylor Ann Bennett; sisters in law and brother in law, Imogene and Ferrell Henegar of Orlando, Florida, Pauline Hamblin of Belding, Michigan. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Thomas Carter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Bill Watson will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
