Thomas Henry Baldree, 85, of Valdosta died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 6, 1929 in Nashville to the late W. B. and Idalene Eunice Baldree and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Baldree was a member of the Swilley Hill Church of God and a retired construction superintendent with Vallorbe, Inc. He served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was an amazing and devoted family man and hard worker. Mr. Baldree was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He served as the construction superintendent during the building of Martin Stadium at Lowndes High School.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years whom he dearly loved and was a devoted husband to Georgie Baldree, his three children and their spouses, Judy and Wade Fox, Ricky and Neita Baldree, Ronda Baldree, extended family, Mike and Kim Burnham all of Valdosta, 14-grandchildren, 33-great grandchildren, sister in law, Louise Baldree of Nashville, numerous nieces and nephews. The family is thankful and expresses their appreciation for the angels of Bethany Hospice for their love and care of Mr. Baldree during his illness. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian Baldree and Bill Baldree, three sisters, Elma Schwab, Alberta Overstreet and Catherine Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Barden officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
