Thomas Drew Vickers, 86, of Hahira died Friday, March 28, 2014 at Presbyterian Home in Quitman. He was born in Hahira on June 4, 1927 to the late Henry Drew Vickers and Pauline Webb Vickers. Mr. Vickers was a retired farmer, a United States Army veteran and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Dennis and Janet Vickers of Hahira, his daughter and son in law, Kathy Vickers Clanton and LeRoy Clanton, Jr. of Hahira, six grandchildren, Jason Vickers, Holly Vickers, Wendy Failor (Dean), Tisha Jones, Lee Clanton (Laura) and Katie Clanton Gordon(Derek), ten great grandchildren, Ben Failor, Katie Failor, Tyler Clanton, Dylan Gordon, Ethan Gordon, Jaydin Clanton, Journey Clanton, Athena Kiene, Kiah Kiene and Gracie Kiene, one sister, Betty Griffis of Warner Robins, GA and one sister in law, Laquita Vickers of Hahira, special friend, Francis Tidwell. Mr. Vickers is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Betty Young Vickers, two sisters, Nellie Parker and Linnie Parker and two brothers, Paul Vickers and Jimmy Vickers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
