Thomas Crawford Clifton, Sr.

Thomas (Tommy) Crawford Clifton Sr., 68 of Valdosta died on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on May 19, 1937 in Lakeland, GA, he was the son of the late, Barney and Katie Cribb Clifton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine McLeod Clifton of Valdosta; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas C. Jr. and Sherry Clifton of Hahira, David Clifton and Jason Clifton both of Valdosta; grandchildren, Carolyn Johnson and her husband Leo, Justin Clifton, Jessica Clifton, Thomas Wayne Clifton, Courtney Clifton, Catherine Clifton; great grandchild, Tiffany Johnson; sister, Doris Sheppard of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, B. H. Clifton, Jimmy Clifton, Carl Clifton, John C. Clifton and sisters, Mary Laura Bendever and Gladys Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. C. J. Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Dasher Cemetery.
