Thomas B. (Tom) Stevens, 64, of Valdosta died on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence following a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Harvey and Lydia Burch Stevens and has been a resident of Valdosta for the past 18 years. He graduated from the University of Georgia and was a self-employed environmental engineer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served as leader of the Wesleyan Sunday School class.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Ellen Stevens of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Imran Rana of Asheville, North Carolina; a son, Will Stevens of Roswell, Georgia; a granddaughter, Lillian Rana and a grandson, Jude Rana both of Asheville, North Carolina; two nephews, Mike Stevens of Tifton, Georgia and Matt Stevens of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Stevens.
A memorial service for Thomas Stevens will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Moon officiating.
