Thelma H. Edmondson

Thelma H. Edmondson, 72, of Valdosta died on Monday, June 3, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta on July 24, 1940 to the late Marion and Verdie Powell Harnage and has been a resident of the Valdosta area all her life. She was retired from Queen Carpet as a textile machine operator and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her family was her life and she devoted all her time and effort into loving and caring for them. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Edmondson of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Bart Butler of Valdosta and Pamela Darlene Nesbitt and James Helms of Lake Park; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Marie and Brett Schambach of New Port Richey, FL; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Prescott of Lakeland; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Ruth Harnage of Valdosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Drew Petty of Naylor, Teresa and J.W. Hall of Lakeland, Elizabeth Partin of Hazelhurst, Gloria and Claude Bennett of Ocala, FL., and Louise Whaley of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Ann Harnage of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Prescott; a brother, Vernon Harnage and two brothers-in-law, Steve Whaley and Cecil Partin.

Services for Thelma Edmondson will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. A.M. Anderson and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. The burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
