Theda Pittman

Theda Cowart Pittman, 89, of Valdosta, died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born in Hahira on November 12, 1915 to the late Gordon and Lula Duggan Cowart. Mrs. Pittman was a retired school bus driver and a member of Pineview Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Wallace Fields of Hahira, two daughters and one son in law, Carolyn Fields George and Ron George of Amarillo, TX and Lovie Pittman of Valdosta, one step son, Donald Pittman of Lake City, FL three step daughters and four step sons in law, Kathleen and Jack Hutchinson of Quitman, Norma Jean and Terry Griffin of Fernandina Beach, FL, Wanda and Henry Carter of Augusta and Harry Boyette of Waycross, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pittman is preceded in death by her husband, Desso Pittman, one daughter in law, Ruth Fields, one step daughter, Barbara Ann Boyette, two sisters, Thelma Scott and Grace Simpson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at two p. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Lynn Hurley and Mr. Ben Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
