Terry Lee Lokey, Sr., 68, of Valdosta passed Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his home. He was born on February 9, 1944 in Albany to the late Felton Marion and Mary Ellen Hill Lokey and had lived in Remerton and Valdosta for many years. Mr. Lokey was a member of Faith Baptist Church. His career began at the Strickland Cotton Mill and he retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after thirty five years of service. He was a family oriented and hard working man who loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. Mr. Lokey liked to play pool and enjoyed watching the Braves and Georgia Football. He was a former scout master, coached many years of baseball and softball and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Lokey of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Terry, Jr. (Troy) and Bobbie Lokey of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Shalan and Petty Officer First Class Tony Brooks of Leonardtown, MD., Erica and Josh Veal of Brunswick, nine grandchildren, Lewis Cochrane, Chad Cochrane, Ryan Cochrane, Jessica Lokey, Devin (Bear) Brooks, Tristan (Tiger) Brooks, Sara Jane Veal, Alexis (Lexi) Veal, Landon (Little Man) Veal, three sisters and a brother in law, Ruth Ethel Downing of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Nellie Irene and Albert Stokes of Valdosta, Mary Frances Jones of Titusville, Fla., two brothers and four sisters in law, Horace Felton and Bobbie Lokey of Orlando, Fla., Ken and Earlene Lokey of Valdosta, Elizabeth Fender of Jacksonville, Fla., Darlene Ellison of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by a sister, brothers in law and sister in law, Juanita Marion Lokey Courson and James B. Courson, Alex C. (Neal) Downing, Don Jones, Don and Evelyn McIntyre, Julian (Fat Boy) Ellison and Kenneth Fender.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Wisehart and Rev. Timothy Downing officiating.
