Terry Dean Blanton

Terry D. Blanton, 51, of Valdosta, died Monday, October 29, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Valdosta on November 16, 1955 to Jack and Sarah Catherine Sutton Blanton. Terry was a truck driver and also attended West End Presbyterian Church. He loved fishing and driving his yellow Camaro.

Survivors include his mother Sarah Catherine Sutton Blanton; son, Trevor Dean Blanton; twin brother, Berry Blanton, all of Valdosta; sister, Katrina Blanton of Lake Park; fiancée, Brenda Kay Bailey Register; maternal grandmother, Lucille Sutton both of Valdosta; nieces, Jessica Rose Smith, Sarah Nicole Smith; great nephew, Kayden Alexander of Veal; uncles and aunts, Raymond and Betty Ann Sutton, George Thurmond Sutton, Odel Blanton Smith, and Eloise Blanton, and many cousins, all of Valdosta. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Jack Blanton.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 in the chapel at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend John Akers, Reverend Doug Brown and Reverend Donnie Bailey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
