Terrance (Terry) Charles Plissey

Terrance (Terry) Charles Plissey, 54 of Valdosta, GA died on February 8, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness. He was born on April 27, 1950 in Washburn, Maine, the youngest child of the late Thomas and Mary Learnard Plissey. He graduated from Washburn High School, Lee Academy and the University of Texas. A diverse background in engineering led Terry on an interesting path of unique opportunities. He worked for Rockwood Systems as a research and development engineer and was the principal inventor of a turret nozzle created to suppress explosives used in NASA’s Space Program in the 1980’s. A recent illness resulted in an early retirement from PM Realty Group where he worked as Director of Engineering responsible for Ravinia II & III, One Live Oak and the Peachtree Building in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Plissey was an advocate for ADA and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen (Rusty) Jamieson Plissey, Valdosta; a son, Adam Thomas Plissey, Valdosta; two daughters, MaryEllen Plissey, Atlanta, Melissa and her husband, Aaron Kostyu, Valdosta; four granddaughters, Madison Plissey, Lake City, FL, Chelsea, Kaleigh and Trinity Kostyu, Valdosta; two brothers, Ed and his wife Marilyn Plissey and Fred Plissey; three sisters, Diane chandler, Prudy Dobson and Susie and her husband, Dennis Lumney and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Plissey and Patricia Beaulieu.

Terry will always be remembered by his family and friends as loving, spontaneous, creative and always amazing to be around. He will be forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
