Tanya Webb Wood

Tanya Webb Wood, born on September 29, 1950, in Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of the late Ponder L. and Iris (Hooker) Webb. Tanya was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loving wife who touched many lives with her warmth, humor, and love.

A proud member of Northside Baptist Church. She loved exploring new places across the United States and enjoyed the thrill of shopping, especially for her favorite clothing and fragrances. Her refined taste, combined with her lively spirit, made her truly unforgettable.

She was married to her devoted husband, John Wood, with whom she shared 24 beautiful years of marriage, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Tanya’s legacy of love lives on in her daughter, Meredith Bechtel, and son-in-law, Craig, of Franklin, Tennessee; her adored granddaughters, Gracie, Lillie, and Maggie Bechtel; her sister, Susan Connelly, and husband, Art, of Woodbine, Georgia; her brother, Benjie Webb and his wife Berrian of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and countless extended family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service for Tanya will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11am in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11am.

Tanya will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory and the stories of her life will continue to be cherished by those who survive her.
