Susie Howell, 80, of Mayday passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Kingsland, GA on March 21, 1940 to the late Charlie Franklin McCollough and Valeria Elkins McCollough. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. She had worked at American Home Patient, Mirate Eye Center and had been office manager at Pridgen Chiropractic. She loved her cats, cooking, singing, going to church and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her daughter and son in law, LaTrell and James Webber of Mayday, son and daughter in law, Ollie F. (Bubba), Jr. and Margrit Howell of Roanoke, VA, grandchildren, George (Butch) Hartman, Jr., Krystle Lawrence (Scott), Tyana Howell, Mitchell Howell and Mariah Muce (Jacob), great grandchildren, Bree Hartman, Maddox Hartman, Brady Hartman, Braxton Hartman, Clayton Lawrence, Grant Lawrence, Hannah Lawrence, Daniel Lawrence and Hope Lawrence, sisters, Jane Isabelle McCollough Knowles Allen of Orange Park, FL, Charlotte Frances McCollough Pike of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Cassandra Ruth McCollough Gillard Roberson of Peace Valley, MO, brothers and sisters in law, Joseph Edward Putman McCollough and Delores McCollough of Woodbine, James Dorrill McCollough and Eileen McCollough of Atlanta, Charles Franklin McCollough, Jr. and Jean McCollough of Derry, NH. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ollie Franklin Howell, Sr.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 at eleven a. m. at Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County with Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Visitation at the graveside will be from 10:30 until 11 a.m. Burial will follow. The family strongly encourages and prefers that due to COVID-19 that everyone attending wear a mask.
