Susan Akridge Holland

Susan Akridge Holland, 67, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on February 13, 1950, in San Diego, California, she was the daughter of the late Buford Butler Akridge and the late Sarah Ernestine Griffin Akridge.

Widow of the late Charles Holland, Susan was a homemaker. Although she had no children of her own, she nurtured her family, caring for them and encouraging them through life's ups and downs. She had a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a nephew, Sean Davis of Valdosta; numerous cousins, including, Vicki Appler of Reading, Pennsylvania, Tracy McRae Ryder of Tallahassee, Florida, Jean McRae of Valdosta, Lea McRae Fitzsimons of Laurel, Maryland. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, N.T. Peeples, a brother, James Edward Akridge, a sister, Debra A. Davis.
