Sue Martin Boyette

Sue Martin Boyette, 84, of Hahira died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her home. She was born in Barney on November 15, 1925 to the late William A. and Coma Lee Walker Maxwell and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Boyette was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church and a retired registered nurse with Smith Hospital. She was a member of the first Hahira Garden Club, member of the Hahira Historical Society, Red Hat Society and Dinner Clubs. Mrs. Boyette lived in Adel for sixteen years where she was very active in the Adel United Methodist Church before returning to Hahira six years ago.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Alex and Debbie Martin of Valdosta, her daughter and son in law, Dani and Pat Buchanan of Franklin, TN., three grandchildren, Trey Martin of Valdosta, Blake (Tricia) Martin of St. Augustine, Fla. and Jay Buchanan of Franklin, TN., great grandchild, Payton Renee Martin of St. Augustine, Fla., her sister, Lynette Downing of Hahira, three sisters in law, Verne Martin Griffin of Hahira, Melba Alderman and Mary (Paul) Swindell all of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, A. B. “Sonny” Martin and Lossie L. Boyette, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 11am, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ken Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the A.
