Sudie Lewis Wetherington, 92, of Hahira died Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Telfair County, Georgia on September 13, 1920 to the late W. D. and Pearl Whittington Lewis and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mrs. Wetherington was a member of the Adel Church of Christ. She loved cooking, gardening and fishing. Mrs. Wetherington was an active participant in the Hahira Honeybee Festival for many years.
Survivors include a son, Alan Wetherington of Cook County, daughter in law, Roberta Wetherington of Greenville, SC., three granddaughters, Melissa (Bart) Nipert of Greenville, SC., Missy (Todd) Hood of Moultrie, Marie Wetherington of Worth County, GA, 9-great grandchildren, two special nieces, Gerri (Jim) Hammond of Lake Park and Lynda (Johnny) Stalvey of Hahira. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Walter Wetherington, two sons, Van Morris Wetherington, Johnny Walter Wetherington , two sisters, Pauline Wetherington, Elizabeth Pearl Coleman and two brothers, Charlie Lewis and W. D. Lewis, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, October 1, 2012 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Roger Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 4-6pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Langdale Hospice House, P. O.
