Steven Wayne Davidson

Steven Wayne Davidson, 49, of Valdosta died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. Steven was born on September 10, 1962 in Valdosta and was a member of the Valdosta Church of the Nazarene. He was a 1980 graduate of Lowndes High School and graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. He lived his life according to this passage in the Bible; Matthew 25:35-40. Steven was a member of the Lowndes High School Touchdown Club and was an avid Viking fan and Georgia Bulldog Fan. He enjoyed playing softball, jet skiing on the Suwannee River and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Brittany and Joel Combs of Raiford, Fla., his mother and stepfather, Joan and Lacy Connell of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Callie Combs, Dylan Marshall, Bradyn Marshall, Gracie Marshall and Cailee Syke, his brother, Keith Davidson of Lawrenceville, GA., sister and brother in law, Margi and Bob Jared of Hillsboro, Tenn., nieces and nephews, Emily (Matthew) Rogers of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Joseph (Emily) Jared of Greenbrier, Tenn., Jordan Davidson and Kellan (Cal) Beck all of Hawkinsville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Wabern C. Davidson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Valdosta Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Bain and Dr. Bob Jared officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
