Steven Dale Bilger

February 3, 1956 — April 23, 2019

Steven Dale Bilger, 63, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at his home. Born on February 3, 1956, in Valdosta, Steve was the son of Gretchen Moore Bilger and the late Kenneth Dale Bilger. An ASE Master Certified Mechanic, Steve was retired from Wiregrass Technical College as Automotive Coordinator and Automotive Instructor. He loved his students and teaching them the art of mechanics. He was a racing enthusiast, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Steve was a very thoughtful man, a good son, husband, father and grandfather who loved his Lord and Savior. Last but not least he was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan.

Survivors are his wife Sandra Rouse Bilger of Valdosta; son, Kenneth Dale Bilger and fiancée, Samantha Elliott of Valdosta, his mother, Gretchen Bilger of Columbus, Mississippi; granddaughters, Amya and Dalilah Bilger of Valdosta; several brothers and sisters in law. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Timothy David Bilger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Pastor Mickey Wisehart will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Carson McLane Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Steve may be made to Wiregrass Foundation South, 4089 Val Tech Road, Valdosta, GA 31602, Attn Mona Paulk, or on the Wiregrass website, https://wiregrass.edu/foundations, using PayPal on the Donor tab. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Bilger family.
