Stephen Lee Scanlon, Sr.

Stephen Lee Scanlon, Sr. was born on June 9, 1953. He died Saturday, June 8, 2013 one day before his sixtieth birthday. Stephen was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to Edward Lee Scanlon and Julia Ann Budenz Scanlon. He was retired from Novonics, served in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1976 and was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church. Stephen was a pharmacist, electrician, computer technician and worked in civil service. He earned three Masters degrees.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Martha Scanlon of Lake Park, one son, Stephen Lee Scanlon, Jr. of Fishers, IN, one daughter, Charity Dawn Batista of Virginia Beach, VA, twelve grandchildren, his mother, Julia Wright of Huntington Beach, CA, two stepchildren, Maxwell Charles Elliott II and Alexsandria Martha Elliott, three sisters, Kathleen Garrett of Indianapolis, IN, Nancy Bizjak of Peachtree City, GA and Debra Scanlon of CA. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Scanlon and two brothers, David Scanlon and Michael Scanlon.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at eleven a. m. at the Lake Park United Methodist Church with Reverend Isaac Salgado officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lake Park United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 412 West Cotton Avenue, Lake Park, GA 31636.
