Stanley DeWayne Rogers, Sr., age 79, passed away at home on Thursday, April 15, 2021, following a short illness. Born on July 14, 1941, in Macon Georgia to the late Henry Stanley Rogers and Mary Louise Geiger Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a retired United States Navy veteran, and the United States Postal Service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Mr. Rogers is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Erin Johnston (Verome) of Tucker, GA, and Kelly Ryan Sotherden (Jonny) of Ocala, FL; two sons and daughter-in-law, Stanley Rogers, Jr. (Denise) of Leesburg, GA; and Conor Rogers of Derry, Northern Ireland; eight grandchildren, Lauren Ryan, Samantha Ryan, Devin Rogers, Katey Johnston, Derry Rogers, Caroline Johnston, Mia Rogers, Sofia Rogers; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cuba Barfield (Billy) of Valdosta, Tenya Shaw (Gordon) of Valdosta, and Marla Singletary (Jerry) of Atlanta.
A funeral mass for Mr. Rogers will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Navy Honors in Nashville GA. The pallbearers will be Bo Rogers, Tony Parrish, Tony Franks, Eric Shaw, Shane Singletary, Talon Franks, and Cyrus Parrish.
