Stan Brunt, Sr., 67, of Clyattville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born August 26, 1948 in Toledo, OH, a son of the late Lee Stanley and Dona M. Burnette Brunt. Mr. Brunt worked for Pantry Pride for twenty years before going to work for Publix, retiring after twenty-seven years. His last position was at the Publix Store on Gornto Road, Valdosta, as Produce Manager. His family always came first, and he greatly enjoyed spending time them. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and Florida Gator fan.
Stan is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Marie A. Brunt of Clyattville; two daughters, Cynthia Whitmer (Paul, Sr.) of Clyattville, and Christine Rumph (Kevin, Sr.) of Valdosta; one son, Stan Brunt, Jr. (Catherine) of Clyattville; thirteen grandchildren, Trey Whitmer, Paul Whitmer, Jr., Paulette Whitmer, Michael Whitmer, Alfonso and Genaro Huerta, Kevin Rumph, Jr., Tiffany (James) McMullen, Dalton Rumph, Ethan Varvel, Christian Brunt, Dennis Brunt, and Emily Brunt; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Kibby Brunt (Sue) of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Brunt will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at the Chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, with Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
