Stacy L. Phillips

Stacy L. Phillips was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world to join Jesus at 49 years of age in the early morning of Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Valdosta, Georgia, after a long hard-fought battle with kidney disease. Stacy is survived by her husband Rick Phillips; her children Desaree, Taylor, Ericka, Kaleb, Hayleigh, Julianna, and Jayden; her grandparents, Janice and George Slack; her parents and stepparents James Lisefski and Barb Lisefski, Debbie Tally and John Gould; and her siblings Jake Lisefski, and Corinne Lisefski.
Stacy was born to James Lisefski and Debbi Tally on February 7, 1973 in Hornell, New York. After graduating from high school, Stacy married her husband. She had three children, Desaree, Taylor, and Ericka. Throughout her time as a dedicated and nurturing foster mother to countless children, Stacy and Rick adopted four more children, Kaleb, Hayleigh, Julianna, and Jayden.
During, Stacy’s glorious life, she has been dedicated to the care of children and the joy of being a stay-at-home mom. Stacy has always had a natural ability to care and provide for children. She has worked as a daycare provider in her home, has been a foster mother, a CNA, working with the elderly, cheerleading coach, and even helped raise kittens from the local humane society. Stacy had the unique gift of being able to quiet a crying baby, comfort a young child, or give advice when her older children reach their teen years. She took the time to always show empathy and truly understand the struggles of others. Even when she was in pain, she always worried about those around her. She was a selfless woman who was a friend to many.
Stacy learned in her 30s that she had been diagnosed with kidney disease. She instantly began to educate herself on the disease. Before and after receiving a kidney from her daughter Desaree, she actively participated in educating others around her about kidney disease. She would volunteer, be an active participant in online support groups, and participated in Kidney walk fundraisers. She was an incredible advocate for the education of kidney disease. She would tell her story wherever she was asked, including in the church. She was a true follower of Jesus Christ. Even when the donated kidney failed, and despite other health complications along the way, she continued to share her story, volunteer her time, and praise the Lord with all that she had.
Stacy has inspired many with her strength and determination through things that would break others. She did it with a smile and a few sarcastic jokes. She continues to inspire us all. She will be greatly missed.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Wednesday, February 23rd at the Enoch Creek Church, located at 7175 George Rd, Lake Park, Ga 31636. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Kidney Foundation in Stacy's memory.
