Stacy Cravey, 84, Valdosta resident for 60 years, died on Monday, September 12, 2016, at his home. Born in Rhine, Georgia, on December 15, 1931, he was the son of the late, Tom and Pat Cravey. After his service in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Cravey began a career as a two-way radio technician, and co-owner of Radio Communications Electronics. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Cravey was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Mr. Cravey is survived by his daughter and son in law, Diane and Glenn Geren of Dasher; granddaughter and her husband, Hilary Geren Woodward and Dean of Valdosta; sister and brother in law, Luzelle and Jim Knight of Milan, sister, Rozelle Coin of Elizabethton, Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Cravey, brothers, Albert Cravey, James Cravey, Woodrow Cravey, and a sister, Waunelle Vaughn.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Dasher Cemetery. Reverend Mike Whelan will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
