SSG DeWitt Williams, Jr., 36, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at his residence. SSG Williams was active duty Army and was stationed in Lawton Oklahoma and was a Drill Sergeant. He was of Christian faith and believed in our Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Williams of Weymouth, Massachusetts; three children Airic Cameron Williams, Jordyn Riley Williams of Valdosta, and Maddix Alexander Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma; parents, DeWitt, Sr. and Sophia Williams of Grayson, Georgia, and Dee and Robert Cosby of Valdosta; five sisters and a brother, Michelle and Brandon Wilson of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, Danielle Williams of Valdosta, Christie Jo Mayo of Decatur, Tony Cosby of Valdosta, Danielle and Terrell Nelson of Lawrenceville, April and Joshua Burks of Little Rock, Arkansas ; his grandmother, Corine Morris of Albany, Georgia; parents-in-law, Brian and Maureen Patten of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Christopher M. Kalafatas of Hull, Massachusetts; two brothers-in-law, Christopher Kalafatas of Hull, Massachusetts, and Nicholas Patten of Weymouth, Massachusetts; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His battle buddies, Vincent (CZ) Czwartacky, and Kyle Gero.
Services for SSG DeWitt Williams, Jr., will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Father Stan White officiating. The burial will follow with full military honors in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at 101 E Central Ave Valdosta, Ga 31601. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
