Shirley Stump Miller

Shirley Stump Miller, 71, of Valdosta died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her home. She was born in Valdosta on January 30, 1946 to the late Aubrey J., Sr. and Elizabeth Rhymes Stump and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Miller was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and was the Director of Finance for Coleman Talley Law Firm. She was a 1964 graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University, a member of the Valdosta State University Foundation and a member of Delta Delta Delta at Auburn University. Mrs. Miller was also a lifetime member of the Valdosta Junior Service League. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of twenty eight years, Evan Miller of Valdosta; two daughters and sons in law, Stephanie Gupton Broome and Ryan Broome, Julie Gupton Scott and Justin Scott all of Valdosta; stepchildren, Mindi Miller Smith and Brian Smith of Denver, CO, Eric and Kristi Miller of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Jarrett Broome, Julia Broome, Ford Scott, Noah Scott, Porter Scott, Carter Smith, Walker Smith, Fischer Smith, Mitchell Miller, Mallori Miller, Matthew Miller, Michael Miller; brother and sister in law, Tom and Jan Stump of Lake Park; mother in law, Elsie H. Miller; brothers in law and sisters in law, Ron and Nancy Miller, Cynde and Robert Lemley, Susie and Jerry Protsman all of New London, IA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Aubrey Johnston Stump, Jr. and a sister, Linda Stump.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Park Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Hale Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
