Shirley R. Herring, 71, of Echols County, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, FL. She was born on November 2, 1941 in Valdosta to the late Arzell Register, Sr. and Estelle Zipperer Register. Mrs. Herring was the former owner of The Flower Shoppe in Lake Park, was a member of Bethel Church of God and worked at Langdale Fuel. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Herring is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Lowell Herring of Echols County, one daughter and son in law, Tina and Kirby Tucker of Hahira, two sons and daughters in law, Patrick and Jenny Herring and Derek and Dana Herring of Echols County, six grandchildren, Leslie Tucker, Kari Tucker, Dale Herring, Kyle Herring, Cassie Herring and Lindsey Herring, three brothers and one sister in law, Arzell Register, Jr. and Brenda of Waycross, James Register and Stanley Register of Naylor, five sisters and four brothers in law, Carolyn Porter and Claude, Jr. (Joe) of Jacksonville, FL, Faye and Ed Keyton of Palatka, FL, Vickie Graham of Naylor, Oveta and Johnny Copeland of Lake Park and Mary and Bill Wright of Perry, FL, sister in law, Linda K. Clarke and her husband, Del of Hermosa, SD, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Randy Register.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at one p. m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Burial will follow at Wayfare Cemetery in Echols County.
