Shirley Parker Etheridge, 73, of Hahira died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Hahira on April 5, 1945 to the late Eugene and Nellie Vickers Parker and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Etheridge was an active member and worker of Charity Baptist Church. She was retired as Property Manager for The Herndon Company. She loved quilting and fishing with her husband. Mrs. Etheridge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian role model for all she met. She had a humble servant’s heart and was always willing to offer a helping hand in time of need.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh C. Etheridge; her three children, Mike and Tina Etheridge, Gary and Angie Etheridge, Sherrie and Ricky Tripp all of Hahira; her four grandchildren, Corey and Anna Tripp, Daniel and Theresa Etheridge, Colton Tripp, Ruby Etheridge; she was looking forward to the birth of a great granddaughter expected on February 28, 2019; three sisters and brothers in law, Joyce and B. J. Tomlinson, Diane and Raymond Stalvey all of Hahira, Paulette and Dave Bearden of Morven; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Graham and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.
