Shirley Mae (Chapman) Fountain, 83, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her residence. She was born on August 27, 1937, in Bakersfield, California to the late A.D. and Henrietta L. (Queen) Chapman. Mrs. Fountain was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved watching westerns, cooking, sewing, and working at Wal-Mart.
She is survived by two sons, Rickey Alan Fountain (Susan Sensibaugh), Kenneth Wayne Fountain (Janet Varsel); a daughter, Terrie Lynn (Fountain) Ansley (Don Ansley); seven grandchildren, Melissa Beth Fountain, Jason Edward, Andrew, Kellie Renee (Kendall) Sayers (Chuck Sayers), Kayla Courtney (Kendall) Wentworth (Nick Wentworth), Wendy Lynn, and Stephanie Renee; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Hailey, Emma, Shabrie, Lily, Logan, Adlele, Aden, Barret, Alan, Sammie Elle, Gabriel Riley, Tilly Maeve, Destiny Lewis, Alyssa Phillips, and Eden Victoria. Mrs. Fountain was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Franklin Fountain Jr. and her parents.
Graveside services for Shirley Mae (Chapman) Fountain will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in the McLane Riverview Mausoleum Chapel.
