She was 89 years old. She was born in Jackson, MS to the late Samuel Alfred Swain and Sara Charlotte Hammond Swain. She later furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education.

For 28 years, Mrs. Register dedicated herself to teaching in the Valdosta City Schools, making a positive impact on countless young lives. Her passion for life extended beyond the classroom, as she was an avid gardener who nurtured beautiful Azaleas, Camellias, and even Grapefruit trees, sharing their beauty with loved ones. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for many years.
