Sherry Wadsworth, 68, of Quitman, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 15, 1945 in Valdosta, a daughter of the late Jasper Arthur and Clara Roach Bass. She graduated from Brooks County High School and retired from Ameris Bank, Quitman, after thirty-eight years. Mrs. Wadsworth was a member of Ochlawilla Baptist Church where she played the piano for over forty years. She loved her granddaughters and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Charles Preston Wadsworth of Quitman; two sons, Lewis Mark Wadsworth of Quitman, and Charles Allen and wife Brandi Wadsworth of Hahira; two granddaughters, McKenzie and Kansas Wadsworth; two brothers, Edward and wife Caroline Bass of Quitman, and Fred Bass of Thomasville; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wadsworth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Pastor Dewey Fountain and Pastor Ronnie Combass officiating. Interment will follow at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
