Sherman William Brumbaugh, 85, of Valdosta died Monday, September 3, 2012 at his home. He was born in Camden, New Jersey on June 25, 1927 to the late Sherman M. and Veronica Grooms Brumbaugh and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Brumbaugh served in the United States Air Force for twenty years and worked for twenty years in Civil Service at Moody Air Force Base. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Brumbaugh was a devoted husband and father and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies.
Survivors include his wife, Ilse Brumbaugh of Valdosta, his son and daughters, Mike Brumbaugh of Washington, DC., Karen Morgan of Jasper, Fla. and Mary Brumbaugh of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Stefanie Dobransky of Adel, Heather Duvall, Fiona Thomas both Rockville, MD., Kristin Webb of New York City, NY. and David Webb of Valdosta, three great grandchildren, Emma Dobransky of Adel, Madaline Duvall and Sage Thomas both of Rockville, MD.
A private service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
