Shawn Stailey

William Shawn Stailey, 40, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at South Georgia Medical Center.

He was born August 12, 1971 at Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, a son of William John Stailey and Wanda Sue Dixon Stailey Brantley. Shawn was of the Church of Christ faith. He was interested in ornithology and loved computers. He was currently Warehouse Manager at Velocity Express and was a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his wife, Kristie McClelland Stailey; son, Gage Stailey, all of Valdosta; daughter, Cheyenne Jones of Hahira; his mother and step-father, Wanda and Bobby Brantley; his father and step-mother, William J. and Debra Stailey, all of Valdosta; his paternal grandmother, Sara Hathcock of Valdosta; aunts and uncles, Ann and Donnie Holcomb of Quitman, Beth and Wally Lambert of NC, and Ruth Carter of NC; great uncle and aunt, John Dixon, Jr. and Marcelle of Valdosta; cousins, Tim and William Holcomb of Quitman, Trip Lambert and Matthew Carter of NC; his "second mom", Linda Nesbitt of Morven; and a sister-in-law, Leigh Ann and husband Bill Raupach of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, L.C. and Illeana Dixon, paternal grandfather, Roy C. Hathcock, and father-in-law, Leroy McClelland.

A Memorial Service for Shawn will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko officiating.
