Shawn Patrick Costello, an Army Veteran, cigar aficionado, rock hound, fisherman, grillmaster, and man who never met a stranger, passed away at Hospice of South Georgia in Valdosta, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Born on January 4th, 1964, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
Shawn is predeceased by his father and mentor, Patrick John Costello (formerly of Nashville, Georgia) and survived by his beloved mother, Patricia Ann Costello (nee Parrish) now residing in Jasper, Georgia. He is also survived by siblings Mary Ann Hand (husband Carl Hand) of New Paltz, New York; Michele Louise Costello Alevizopoulos (husband Antonios Alevizopoulos) of Quogue, New York; Patrick Gregory Costello (wife Rosemary Costello) of Waleska, Georgia; and son, Thomas Patrick Costello of Ellington, Connecticut. He left behind five amazing nieces, three great-nephews, and one great-niece.
Shawn cherished his friendships with many “Cigar Buddies,” from Stogies Downtown, in Valdosta, Georgia. He will be missed for his sense of humor, elaborate stories of adventure, and wealth of knowledge across a wide range of interesting subjects.
Shawn will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
