Sharon Kaye Steele Thigpen Haaland

Sharon Kaye Steele Thigpen Haaland, 63 of Valdosta, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born on September 22, 1941 in Connersville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ruth Shubert Steele. She was employed at C & S Bank (Nations Bank) for 26 years. She attended the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors are her husband, Milton Haaland of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Laci Steele of Lake Worth, FL; five grandchildren, Ashley Steele of Chatanooga, TN, Spencer Steele, Sean Steele, Todd Steele and Troy Steele all of Lake Worth, FL; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Laura Steele of Boynton Beach, FL, Ken and Judy Steele of Springfield, OH, Betty Steele of Tallahassee, FL; five nieces, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ron Steele and a grandson, Wesley Steele.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Reverend Brian Sayre will officiate.
