Sgt. Emilio Jose Velazquez, 28, of Evans Mills, New York, died suddenly on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born in New York, New York on May 8, 1992 and was a Signal Support System Specialist with the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Drum in New York.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Frato-Velazquez of New York; his father, Rafael Velazquez of Valdosta; his brother, Rafael Lorenzo Velazquez; his grandmother, Iris Hernandez; his aunts, Andrea Hernandez, and Iris Hernandez; uncle and aunt, Louis and Yolanda Hernandez all of New York; cousins, Victor Luis Orriola in Europe, David Renato Emanuel of New York and Xavier Hernandez of Virginia, Raquel Hernandez. Sgt. Velazquez was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Hernandez Velazquez, and his grandfather, Jose Hernandez.
A service for Sgt. Emilio Jose Velazquez will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Sgt. Velazquez will be interred at a later date in the Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
