Selu Burton May

SELU BURTON (S. B.) MAY, 94, of Valdosta died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Fellowship Home. He was born on July 29, 1913 in Stillmore to the late Marvin and Johannah O’Brien May and had lived in Valdosta since 1955. Mr. May was retired from Southern Railway as Trainmaster. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and with the Gideons International, and a fifty year Mason in Master’s Lodge #244 in Knoxville, TN.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Brooks May of Valdosta, two daughters and a son in law, Susan May Pope of St. Simons, Carolyn May Bruce and Val Bruce of Atlanta, two grandchildren, Laura Pope Rader and Tim Rader of Villa Rica and Jeffrey Pope of Newnan, two great grandchildren, Austin Rader and Olivia Rader both of Villa Rica. Also surviving are a sister Justine Mallard of Aliene and a brother, Jack O. (Phyllis) May of Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. Entombment will follow in the Riverview Mausoleum.
