Saundra (Sandy) Avila

Saundra (Sandy) Avila, 69, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on March 7, 1945. Sandy was the operator of Central Floral and a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Avila of Valdosta, her daughter and son in law, Alesha Avila Looper and Dale Looper of Tampa, Florida, two sons, Danny Avila and his wife, Joyce Avila of Quitman, Adam Avila and his fiancé, Brenda Holton of Valdosta, six grandchildren, Logan Leggett (Taylor), Everett Looper, Saralyn Avila, Aubrey Bradey, Crystal McGrath and Rosanna Edwards, her brothers and sister in law, Chuck and Sandy Peyton of Ohio, Ed Sermon of Mississippi and Pat Jarnagin of Florida, one sister and brother in law, Linda and Michael Allen of Ohio, a cousin, Kay Jarnagin of Indiana and several nieces and nephews. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Susan Jarnagin Sermon and Robert Sermon.

Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 at three thirty p. m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Mark Wood officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends Saturday from six until eight p. m. at the funeral home.
