Sarah Young Upchurch

Sarah Young Upchurch, 43, of Clyattville, died at her home on Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was born on October 27, 1966 in Royston. Over the years she has worked in several jobs in the hospitality industry. Sarah loved her family and loved spending time with and caring for them. She had a special love for all animals and would bring home any stray she found. Christmas was a very special time for Sarah and she loved spending the holidays with her boys. She was of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Upchurch of Clyattville; sons, Chad Williams, of Ray City, Brad Williams, Chase Williams, and James Harris, all of Valdosta; her parents, James A. and Laurys Young of Sumner. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy James & Jennie Young of Moultrie; and Terry Young of Valdosta; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Alan Wilson of Rincon; and her grandmother, Peggy Paulk of Ocklocknee. Sarah is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, 1 great nephew, 2 great nieces, and her beloved pets.

Services for Sarah will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Rev. Jesse Hathaway officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Lake Park.
