Sarah Smith Thomas

Sarah Smith Thomas, 81, of Sparks, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Serenity Assisted Living Facility in Sparks. She was born on November 14, 1932 in Houston County Georgia to the late James Hilliard and Jimmie Lou Jackson Smith and has been a resident of the local area for the past 65 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Sparks. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who doted on all her grandbabies, and was happy and loving person in heart and spirit.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Jim Morrison of Hahira; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Lisa Thomas of Naylor; a daughter, Angela Thomas of Valdosta; three grandchildren and their spouses, Wyvonnie and Chris Jones of Yucca Valley, California, Amanda and Sean Perry of Orlando, Florida, and Lewis Thomas of Ray City; great-grandchildren, Patrick Perry, Dustin Perry, Lilian Perry, Andrew Jones, Catherine Jones, and Susan Jones; one brother, Clarence Smith of Tifton and a sister, Beatrice Edwards of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Thomas and three sons, Lewis T. Thomas, Andrew Jackson Thomas and Neal Thomas, a grandson, Blossom Morrison.

A memorial service for Sarah Thomas will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sparks, Georgia. A private family committal will be held at a later date.
