Sarah Rogers Hightower

Sarah Rogers Hightower, 81, of Valdosta died Friday, November 12, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on February 20, 1929 in Valdosta to the late Carroll Bart and Jewell Walker Rogers and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Hightower was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and retired from Belk-Hudson as a buyer.

Survivors include her husband, B. S. Hightower of Valdosta, two daughters and a son in law, Treina Dove of Monticello, Fla., Brenda and Otto Ojevaar of Atlanta, two grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Shannon Dove of Houston, TX. And Holly and Michael Rozzi of Long Island, NY., two great grandchildren, Jonah Dove and Samuel Dove both of Houston, TX., one brother and sister in law, Floyd and Avernell Rogers of Valdosta, numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll Bart Rogers, Jr. and Harvey Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 14, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford officiating. Burial will follow in Hightower Cemetery.
