Sara Virginia Horne Harbin, 73, a native of Adel, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 22, 2004 after an extended illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Valdosta where she sang in the choir for 32 years, and was the secretary of the 2nd grade Sunday school class. She was a homemaker and a dental hygienist.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lt. Col. Kenneth E. Harbin of Valdosta; a daughter, Elizabeth Harbin; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jayne Harbin; two grandchildren, Ashton and Anna Katherine Harbin, all of Valdosta; special family, Ricky Lindsey of South Carolina, Michael Lindsey of Georgia (deceased) and Kathy Zaniewski of Alabama, who adopted Ken and Sara as parents; four sisters, Laura Collins and Ramanda Marshall and Frankie Ledbetter, all of Adel, and Edna Swilley of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Toy Horne of Adel and five siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Valdosta. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Adel. Dr. Phil West and Rev. Mac Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends at Carson McLane Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Carson McLane Funeral Home
