Sara (Vanne) Coleman Mccomb

Sara Evanne (Vanne) Coleman McComb, 64, passed away on December 31, 2009, at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center after a long illness. She was born in Valdosta on October 16, 1945, to the late Milton Eugene and Annie Inabinet Coleman. Vanne was a charter member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She graduated from Valdosta High School in 1963. She graduated from Valdosta State College with a degree in biology and received an RN degree from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton. She was a nurse at South Georgia Medical Center and at Baptist Beaches Medical Center in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Vanne will be remembered by many for her wit and lively sense of humor.

She is survived by a daughter, Leslie McComb of Denver, Colorado; a son, Cameron McComb of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and a brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Sharon Coleman of Valdosta. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Services for Vanne Coleman McComb will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2009, in the chapel of McLane Funeral Home with the Reverend Willie Beasley officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. in the chapel prior to the service. Donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O.
