Sara Holton Rowell

Sara Holton Rowell, 89, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on November 9, 1930 to the late Charles Lee Holton and Thelma Albritton Holton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She was very devoted to her church, Redland Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Mrs. Rowell loved the Lord and her family deeply. Her hobbies included collecting angel figurines.
Mrs. Rowell is survived by her son, Thomas D. Rowell (Jamie Carter) of Winter Park, FL, her daughter April (Bret) Sellers, of Callahan, FL, three grandchildren Joshua (Jessica) Sellers, of Callahan, FL, Adam Carter, and Austin Carter both of Winter Park, FL, a great grandchildren Sabella Sellers, of Callahan, FL, a sister in law Alice Holton, of Thomasville, GA, and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Morel Thomas Rowell, two brothers Charles Holton, and Walter Holton, and two sisters Juanita Sims, and Frances Cooper.
A funeral service for Mrs. Rowell will be held Saturday March 14, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. David Holton will officiate.
Flowers will be graciously appreciated, or in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
